Opening of the Living Museum Bad Säckingen, Germany

Powerful beginning at the opening festival

What a powerful beginning.

The festival was not only well attended — it was carried by the people. By so many who came, contributed, listened, spoke, celebrated, and formed new connections.

One part of the evening was the video installation “Loveabledbled.” In it, people from the Haus der Diakonie share what they find lovable about themselves. No staging. No grand words. Simply self-respect, spoken aloud. Visitors were invited to respond — with cut-out paper shapes, with their own thoughts, with visible resonance on the wall. And while we were slowly tidying up at the end of the evening, children from the street came in — curious, open — and simply sat down to draw with us. This is exactly what it is about: open spaces. Thresholds that become permeable.

The Living Museum has begun, and this evening showed what becomes possible when art turns into encounter.
